shafiq husayn - it's better for you ft. anderson paak

Over the past few years, there was a kind of revolution on rap scene, and it seems like the golden era of hiphop has come again. But on someone’s mind, there must be a name of Sa-Ra creative partners, consist of Taz Arnold, Om’Mas and Shafiq Husayn. As you can simply associate from its name, they’re influenced by sun ra, and their music was quite sensational and reminded all of us of the music of J dilla in some way, especially when it comes to ‘The Hollywood Recording’ back then 2007. But since they’re not making an album of Sa-Ra, It’s been a long time to see Shafiq Husayn on the scene. Their albums were a kind of new type of lay-back music, style of neo-soul or avant-garde rap. Since it has great swing to make your head moving smoothly, maybe it could be called new type of slow jams as well. Even though they had collaboration with famous artists like Erykah Badu, Jurassic 5, and Talib Kweli, they’ve got no attentions from MTV award or something like that but some listeners. After all, Taz Arnold launched his own brand ‘TISA’, Om'Mas became a regular cast member on Diddy's MTV program Making His Band drawing more attention to Sa-Ra, And Shafiq Husayn sticks with his own style of music releasing his album ‘Shafiq En' A-Free-Ka’ in 2009.
